Mother’s Day is the perfect way to celebrate moms around the world for their hard work, love and dedication. On the hunt for ideas to show mom or a treasured loved one the perfect way to say “I appreciate you”? Check out these simple, thoughtful outings to treat you and your mother.

Picnic

Bring out the picnic blanket and basket and soak up some sun while you’re at it. Picnicking is a great way to put together a meal with love that you and your mom will both enjoy. Not only will you be able to put your creativity to the test, but you’ll save big, too. Ditch the restaurants, pack your bags and get ready for a day of quality time to make mom smile. Finding the perfect meal can be challenging–check out The Kitchn for a menu of tasty, easy-to-make meals.

Gardening

If your mom likes to garden, why not stop and smell the roses? It’s springtime which is perfect for planting and weeding and giving mom an extra hand. Surprise her with some new gear to make tending to her garden less of a dig. Not interested in getting dirty? Try visiting an arboretum or botanical garden and enjoy the flora without the fuss.

Brunch

What’s a better way to spend Mother’s Day (or any Sunday) than with a few glasses of mimosas and a delicious dish to accompany them? Spend the afternoon treating mom to a meal that will make her taste buds dance. Check out your local brunch restaurants to find out what specials they may have on her special day. Take caution because Mother’s Day means crowded restaurants unless you don’t mind the wait. Try your chances and surprise her with brunch for the family. You’ll get brownie points for this one.

Sightseeing

Sightseeing doesn’t have to solely consist of museums or parks unless it includes one of her favorites. Plan a brief stroll around town and hit locations off the beaten path. Or one of my favorites, find a place you pass often and don’t take the time to investigate. Bring your camera along to capture some good shots of the scenery (and a special one of you and mom).

There are so many ways to celebrate mom, so get creative. Find out the best way to tell mom you love her and share  your favorite #MothersDay moment with us on social.
