This Annapolis restaurant has been serving up authentic Mexican and Latin American food with a just a dash of Cuban flair to hungry diners ever since they opened. Co-owners Walter Vasquez and Wilmer Romero first opened Sin Fronteras Cafe in 2010, and in-so-doing composed an expert team of four chefs to add their own special zest to the menu. When you sit down, you are first greeted with fresh chips and salsa, and even this small element is well above average. If you’re in the mood for a well-mixed drink, the margaritas here get raves from regulars, as does the top-notch sangria. Starters worth trying include the guacamole, which is from only the freshest avocados and blended by hand, as well as the outstanding Ecuadorian pupusas. Main dishes are all hearty and filling, with the Peruvian-style lomo saltado winning particular praise. All the Mexican plates here are well above average, and patrons just love the exceptional tacos, which are prepared with a wide variety of ingredients on fresh, hot tortillas. If you're looking for a spicy night out, not far from the Mariner Bay apartments, this is the place to dine.
