Firehouse 12 is part recording studio, part jazz venue, part record label, and part swanky lounge. Basically, it’s one of the coolest spots in New Haven. Local bartender at the GPSCY Scott Hoch gave us the heads up on this one, and recommends dropping in to catch an intimate performance at their unique, acoustically balanced, soundproofed space.
Owner and chief sound engineer Nick Lloyd collaborates with Taylor Ho Bynum to offer locals an authentic experience like few others, earning the praise of the New York Times, who declared Firehouse 12 “The pre-eminent spot for improvised music in the region.”
Whether you’re looking to lay down some tracks, take in a show, or simply sample their diverse range of classic cocktails and hand-picked craft beer selection, Firehouse 12 is in a class all its own.
